2023 Fantasy Football Wide Receiver Rankings & Tiers!
The 2023 Fantasy Football season is upon us! You can find my most up to date Wide Receiver Rankings on this page throughout the entirety of the off-season. At the bottom of the rankings you can see the “last updated” date.
The receivers are going early and often in this draft, and it’s for good reason. Normally I suggest to zig while everyone zags. However, in part due to the strain being put on the top 24 wide receivers, I think you want to walk away from the first two rounds with one or two receivers. In a three wide receiver league, it’s a must. Especially if your league doesn’t have a deep bench.
Once you get into the wide receiver threes (around WR 30) I don’t think there’s a huge difference until you get outside of the top 72. The difference is in confidence level, not potential. There will be a lot of receivers being drafted in the mid & late rounds who will surprise; even undrafted. For every one that surprises, there will be three who don’t. The trick will be choosing the correct shots to take.
From worst (ranked) to best here are just some of the receiver groups (and some individuals) who offer… something:
- Sterling Shepard – No one would be shocked if he became fantasy relevant, but perhaps no one in this offense will be reliable because the ball gets spread too thin between: Isaiah Hodgins, Darius Slayton, Parris Campbell, Jalin Hyatt, and Wan’Dale Robinson
- Kyle Philips could be the second best receiver on the Titans offense (what’s that worth?)
- Matt Stafford could be back to form this year. If so, does someone step up? Van Jefferson, Ben Skowronek, Tutu Atwell or Puka Nacua all could!
- Houston drafted Tank Dell – added veteran Robert Woods – gets John Metchie back – and Nico Collins has a chance to be “the” guy
- Kansas City will, probably, once again deploy their entire receiving corp to some extent: Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Skyy Moore, Rashee Rice, Justin Watson, Richie James, and Kadarius Toney could all be very hard to predict
- Khalil Shakir enters his second season with the Bills and could have an opportunity
- Tim Patrick returns, but he has Marvin Mims breathing down his neck. In addition, if Mims puts everything together he could challenge Courtland Sutton for playing time
I could make another 50 bullet points and I still wouldn’t cover all the possibilities. Point is, after several years of strong wide receiver classes, the league is starting to become saturated at the position and that’s making it tough to predict a lot of target shares around the league… there will be opportunities on the waiver wire. Don’t be afraid to take some swings late in the draft and react / be active on the waiver wire early season.
We take what we know, what we think will happen and PLOP… here are your most recent wide receiver rankings!
